Cynthia Wilson: Information access and focus on recovery are keys to helping community cope with COVID-19

COVID-19 has indeed brought into sharp relief the precariousness of so many families living in or near poverty in Fayetteville and Cumberland County.

How about murals as a way of sharing COVID-19 safety information with the public? Through artwork in public spaces, the City of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, has taken an innovative approach to reinforcing health and safety measures, such as frequent hand washing. The murals are attractive, colorful and painted by local artists.

In the spirit of partnership, the Pathways for Prosperity (P4P) Coalition has written a letter to local elected officials sharing ways that communities from across the nation are tackling challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. The letter focuses primarily on examples related to Access to Information and Services, and Equity in Response and Recovery. You can find the letter on the coalition’s website.
